Turkey Butt…

Interior rounding out. Finished up the center console and dash pieces.

I was attempting to polish my shifter bezel and it got caught in the buffer. I’m going to have to glue it and do a Carbon overlay because prices on these have jumped.

Waiting on some interior clips to finish installing everything. I need to get some fiberglass to reinforce the door cards then wrap those and then I can turn my attention to the seats.

More interior…

Today I continued pulling parts to re wrap and clean up. I also pulled more of the old tint off. I’m still contemplating going with mirror, color, or just 50% ceramic to keep the interior from fading like it did.

I had flocked the center console grey. But it didn’t come out the way I anticipated and it didn’t stand up to use. So I started to remove the flocking so I can wrap it in the grey suede.

Started pulling old cloth off for fresh…

Independent George…

Can’t believe I wasted $32 on these. Titanium bolts for the spark plug cover.

Pump up the jam, pump it up…

While your feet are stomping
And the jam is pumping
Look ahead, the crowd is jumpin’
Pump it up a little more
Get the party goin’ on the dance floor
See, ’cause that’s where the party’s at
And you’d find out if you do that

Parts for the electric PS are coming in…

Headlining…

Ran out of spray adhesive. More gets here Thursday. Which is fine, I broke all the clips and those will be there Friday.

I bought a LVLP paint gun, and got my Pops old gun and compressor. No more paint shops?

Wrap…

In this episode I fail.

Not completely… but partially.

I started wraping interior pieces. The lower portions came out well but the upsers were just too intricate for my skill level. Additionally the material was too light.

My truck keeps picking up nails.

The material for my headliner came in. Loving the color.

Steps back…

I finally found a method to attack this overspray.  Razor blade, pick tool, masking tape, goof off auto gel, and steel wool.

Door sill gaskets I pulled off and scrubbed.

Under the car I sprayed with undercoat.

I took a break and started on the interior. I thought this would be motivational but I found quite a few issues. I thought the interior would be mostly dirty but I found that most of the bride material is sun faded as well as dirty. The body shop cracked the front of my seat, they had left the door open while it was in the shop and there’s a thick layer of shop dust and overspray all in the interior, the spot welds to bolt for the harness bar in the B pillar broke and it fell inside, the brackets to the radio broke while pulling it out. I had tried to flock the center console. But the adhesive wasn’t strong enough and the material is all over the interior. I’m going to have to order more cloth and redo all the parts that were already done. Ill also have to get better seat mounts to support the seat after I do some fiberglass repair.

While pulling the interior apart I found some stickers and passes from old drift series.

I bought a steam cleaner and some dye. Praying it comes out decent.

Interior up next…

Ace Hood…

Wild how the vents look black in the shade. I’m going to need to make a drip tray for this so water stays out when it rains.

Moving this hood solo is a workout. It’s unbelievably large and heavy.

Also installed my HKS resevior socks.

Haitch Kay Ess…

I spent entirely too much for a timing belt and oil cap. But twas worth it.

I initially installed the belt “backwards”. It’s not like it would have affected the function but my ocd wouldn’t let me leave it alone. I took everything apart and reinstalled.
